CloudOps Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)

About the Role:

This on-site position is initially offered as a contract role for approximately 6 to 9 months. The contract period will allow both the company and the individual to assess performance, collaboration, and long-term fit. Subject to satisfactory performance and business needs, this role may be converted to a full-time permanent position.

Responsibilites:

Primary Responsibilities

· Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure.

· Automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

· Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using Kubernetes (K8s) and other container orchestration tools.

· Build and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability,and security of workloads.

· Troubleshoot and resolve system, application, or network issues in Kubernetes-based environments.

· Collaborate with development teams to build CI/CD pipelines for seamless application deployment.

· Monitor cloud and Kubernetes environments to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.

· Optimize cloud and Kubernetes resource utilization to ensure cost-efficiency and scalability.

· Manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and high availability configurations for both cloud and Kubernetes environments.

· Implement and maintain security best practices, including access control, role-based access control (RBAC) in Kubernetes, and data encryption.

Technical Expertise

· Work with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

· Configure and maintain cloud networking components (e.g., VPC, subnets, firewalls, load balancers).

· Demonstrate extensive experience in deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., EKS, AKS, GKE, or self-managed clusters).

· Manage Kubernetes manifests using YAML files and Helm charts for application deployment and configuration.

· Implement observability in Kubernetes using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Fluentd/Elastic Stack.

· Exhibit familiarity with Kubernetes components such as Pods, Services, Deployments, Ingress Controllers, and Persistent Volumes.

· Regularly perform Kubernetes upgrades and ensure compatibility with application workloads.

· Develop and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting systems for Kubernetes and cloud environments (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK Stack).

Collaboration and Communication

· Partner collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, security teams, and project managers.

· Provide technical support and expertise for cloud and Kubernetes operations to stakeholders.

· Document processes, workflows, and best practices for cloud and Kubernetes operations.

· (Preferred) Ability to communicate effectively in Korean for collaboration with Korean-speaking teams or clients.

Qualifications:

· B.S.in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

· Proficiency in Korean, suitable for roles requiring bilingual communication.

· Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructure and operations.

· Demonstrated expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration.

· Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).

· Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

· Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Engineer) or Kubernetes (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA) are a plus.

Compensation:

· $50,960 ~ $65,520 and/or DOE (Dependent on Experience)
